I went to the 2011 version of the Performance World Custom Car Show on Sunday and man has this show gotten lame from two years ago when i had my car there as part of a club display.
They now charge you $30 to put you car in the show, you get less prizes and stuff for entering your ride. They raised up the prices to get in (now you pay the tax) and much less cars on display. There is one whole building worth of cars they no longer rent as part of the show, so less show for more money. And most of the vendors are barely or not at all car related.

I went there with a few of the older guys from my car club ( R&A Classics)

and they were not to thrilled with the show and said they will not be back. I think the Performance World show will be gone in 5 years since the new owners have changed it so much, i hope i am wrong.

I agree with the OP....sadly, the show is just getting worse every year, and ive been going for a good 15 years straight (since i was a young lad)

Always the same cars, and most of the same vendors (that were car related anyways...almost reminded me of Barrie flea market this year, hardly any car related booths)...Seems like the quality of some of the cars is questionable, and the expansion of the import cars doesnt make me happy either...not to mention, this year, the models looked ...and to top it all off, even with my 5 dollar student coupon, i was charged 17.60 (the girl said, sorry thats taxes...since when?????)

I took three lousy pictures, all on my phone, because in my opinion there werent really many cars worth taking pictures of...hopefully it gets better though, because its the show i used to look forward to every year to get pumped for spring

To be completely honest with you Performance World died with the last show in 2011 as the former show owner no longer wanted to continue with the show, so for the 2012 there is a new owner who figured rather then continue on with some else’s legacy! It was time to Start fresh and new “Mega Speed Custom Car and Truck Show” so New owner (Mr Pat Porco) New outlook, New Image, New Idea’s and new fresh start = one epic new show! And I promise you this year’s new show will not disappoint anyone
.

Mega Speed is Toronto's newest custom car and truck show. It's the bridge between classic custom car/truck and the "tuner" enthusiast!

Mega Speed is happening March 9-10-11 at the International Centre in Mississauga.

I hope for nothing but the best for the new show. I'm saddened that Performance World is no longer as i have gone to this show for the last 27 odd years. I cherish the memory of the time i had my Comet in the show a few years back, for me that was a thrill to have my car in a show i went to as a kid. If " Mega Speed" is too survive it cannot do what the last two or three years that the old Performance World did with it's show cause that will only piss off the car show going population.

I will attend the show in March as usual (just to help kill the Winter if anything) and hope i like it as much as the old ( 2009 and older) Performance World shows.

I have to admit if i go and the show has turned into a tuner show i will not go back again. You will find that indoor shows are attended for the most part by middle aged or older males who like their American classic cars and the tuner fans like Summer out door shows.

Good luck Mega Speed on the new show.
