True, but be careful because harmonics from open headers could also interfere with the knock sensor sensitivity.
Second harmonics is what breaks windows, when a low flying jet fighter does a fly by.
Check your plugs regularly for "freckles" or worse yet small "blisters" flaked "off" the plug ceramic tip.

You welcome Bud.,. the noise you hear from open headers, is the exhaust breaking the sound barrier, about 760 MPH.,. more food for thought

I've heard it can effect electronic also, I've never had an issue, but I usualy allways use a extention on my open headers.   Budnicks
