What you got? what is your preferances? are you a fan of MSD's? are you a fan of Mopar Performance Orange, Chrome or Gold boxs? what wire do you run? and why? I am a fan of the MSD's & both MP ignition boxs I prefere the MP's for street driven & the MSD's for the Track only type cars. I currently run a Chrome 10K rpm box when street drive & a Gold super box when at the track. I like the MP electronic ignition systems they are verry user friendly & easy to install. I like to run the lowest OHM resistance per/ft wires I can get. I like to know the spark isn't wasted on the wires & it's getting to the plugs were it's needed. I am currently using 40 ohm per/ft Taylors on my RR, with a MSD Blaster II coil, & brass contacts in a BOSCHE cap. Lets get some discussions going what is your preferances & why?   Budnicks

I prefer mallory stuff over msd....have heard and seen way too many msd failures on my friends stuff, especially in more recent years, seems like product/ quality control is going to the shits over there.

I run a mallory hyfire 685 box and couldnt be happier...been dead nuts reliable, and my car saw 4000 street miles this past year...for the price and the features on it, it just cant be beat...so much so that 2 friends are upgrading their ignitions to the same box. I also run accel super wires and an MSD blaster II coil (mainly because i got a great deal on it)...I want to get new wires for it though this year

You are correct about the MSD failures but in an all out race engine it's hard to argue with the results you get from a MSD7. I personaly use Mopar Electronic moduals on all my Musclecars of late, I have 3 differant 1's to choose from, the mondane Orange box for just over stock to 6000rpm, The Chrome box for hot street/Stripp cars to 8000rpm & the Super Gold for strickly track opperated to 10,000rpm capabillities not that I can spin it that high it just has a good spark to that point. But when building a racer I use MSD stuff, it's just what I am use to. I have herd nothing but good about the New Mallory stuff.    Budnicks

I run my 685 box with an MP electronic distributor, and no problems to speak of. Works great for me

I asked because a friend of mine bought 1 second hand , I know, he bought it from a reputable local guy that said it worked fine before he went to a MSD 7AL ... I'm not sure of the model # yet will look up installation instruction on the web before installing it, he is having issues & wanted to know of any problems or precautions, before I help him install it...

what issues is he having? I know for a fact that most MSD 7AL's usually dont work too well on the street, if it is a street car....they usually burn up from what i know
