Bubbles in the coolant tank.

I'm not losing any coolant and its not over heating.

New aluminium Rad

Tested it for exhaust gas with blue liquid test was negative.

Compression test

160, 160, 155, 165, 160, 160

My head is going to explode........ When I got home to check the rad it is still bubbling little fizzy bubbles and the odd large one like some sort of chemical reaction is going on in the rad. Its been sitting for 20+ hours no plugs in it no cap on the rad.

So I picked up a pressure tester for the cooling system today and pumped it up to 20 psi held it for about 10 minutes used my stethoscope and listened in each cylinder and nothing. I did find a tiny leak at the heater switch nothing tightening the clamp didn't fix.
Well pressure tester has been on for an hour or so set it to 0 and the pressure keeps climbing, no plugs in it, hasn't been run for over a day so no heat no combustion pressure. Where can this gas be coming from its up to 4 PSI!
when i got home from poker tonight the pressure gauge was at 8 psi so as a shot in the dark I set my lighter next to the cap and slowly let the pressure off and poof redish flames!!! Its Hydrogen!!!

I'm dumb founded http://awrracing.com/media/electrolysis.pdf

Used my Volt meter the coolant reads .65 volts.

Disconnected the battery and I'll test when I get home tonight.

I hate electrical problems........... I would have preferred the head gasket.

PH test should that coolant was bad high alkali, I flushed it and tested it again and PH test showed a neutral result. Took it for a drive  and the coolant is charged again up to .3 volts (was .18 right after the flush) better than the .6 but still looks like I have some sort of a problem. I'm adding grounds and cleaning all the existing ones...........

Oh yeah no more bubbles in the coolant tank!

apparently its common with aluminium rad especially when you run straight water....... and older cars that came with brass rads that have been upgraded can be susceptible.

This is why you run deionized distilled water.  The electricity simply can't transfer through it.
