You talking about these ones?

Quote
Designed to control transmission heat through its ''heat sink'' design, Moroso's cooler incorporates 500 square inches of radiation surface for high heat transfer. Inside the cooler, you'll find a magnatized filter cartridge that removes wear particles over 4 microns in size. Easy installation. Approximately 3'' x 12'' long. Weighs about 1 pound. Note: Not Recommended for use on the street.

I was looking at those too,
I like the size and design but read the last line there.
Not Recommended for use on the street

I think the reason for "not recommended for  street use"  is winter driving. Your tranny would never get to operating temps.

Well that wouldn't be so bad then.
I kind of wrote them off when I saw the not for street use on the moroso one, but never thought of it as not getting warm enough in cool weather.
Going to do some more looking into it now.
I like that moroso one with the magnetized filter cartridge.
I plan on putting a large front mount intercooler on my car for the turbo and need a nice compact trans cooler like that.

The Jegs one is like the one I picked up. 15" x3" at Hortons Hot Rods in Milton. I was going to mount it on the frame rail.

edit...however.... still not much good in the winter

It was a guy in California that told me about that one.
I think running one in the cooler weather would not be too much of a problem.
Just take a bit longer to warm up.
I used to run a decent size trans cooler on my beater when I lived in Winnipeg and once it warmed up, the trans was fine. Even in -30 degree weather.
