While preparing for a new Aluminum rad...I figured Id replace the 195 stat with a 185. One bolt came out easy but the second one was all wobbly and loose . The P/O had stripped it and looks like he packed it with JB weld. The way I see it I have 2 options...more JB Weld or Helicoil. Option one sounds easier. Whaddya think? (Marlin Aluminum intake)

Helicoil it. Option one sounds easier but I think option 2 would safer bet. I hate fixing what the p/o fucked up.

The chap that I traded the 70 GMC to for the El Camino told me that the GMC dropped a couple of valves shortly after he got it. Hard to believe as It had an untouched block, brand new Vortec Heads and a mild lift Crane cam. Any things possible I guess but I think he was just whining Cuz I bitched to him about "forgetting" to mention a few things about the Elky. Case in point.

When I had my 68 camaro, I had a small electrical fire under the hood that burnt up the harness. Bad wire job from the p/o. When I fixed it, I used what I had in the garage to re-wire it. A spool of blue wire was the only thing I had that was the proper gauge. I knew where everything went because I wired it. I sold the car rolling several years later and the poor guy that bought it had no idea what wire went where when he was putting an engine in it. Sure enough I got a phone call. I went and helped him wire it all up.

Was it the black camaro? I remember seeing that car parked out front of my place with the hood up one nite. It couldnt have been the nite of the fire cuz you and Chris were gone shortly after. That was a long time ago .

Ya it was black. Pretty sure we were at your place with it a long time ago like you said. You may have seen it at Linda`s place a few times too. I sold the car in Winnipeg about 1997 I think it was.

Was a 327 but I blew it up and replaced it with a 307 that I bought of Tom for 150 bucks. Got that motor to run a high 13 and then replaced it with a 406. I only got to the track once with that motor as I was working most weekends then so the car saw mostly street duty then. The 406 took it too a few very traction limited low 13 high 12 second passes on a set of 10 year old pro track tires. They sucked at the track but it was all I had at the time. Had to roll it out past the tree before I could feed it and they would still break loose.
