Ya they do need a bigger shutdown lane.
That's kinda like shannonville's issue, they don;t won anymore more land so the big class (not sure the class name) can only run 1/8th mile whikle everything under 8-9 seconds can run 1/4 its up to you if you want to let off sooner. Mind you there shut down is rather long and I have only seen 1 car do into the gravel and that's because of a braking issue.

I think that is an illusion. Neither 1 of those cars went off the end of the shut down area.
IMO the opening of the chute caused the right lane car to get out of shape and the left lane car did some skilful driving to avoid it.

yes I watched it a couple times and on full screen and I don't see where they went into the weeds.I think the way the picture was taken it seems like the track ends at the top of the hill but it actually doesn't it goes on past there.The safety vehicles weren't driving on turf they were on solid ground. |

A 57 chev promod clearly ended up in the grass and footage of the safety vehicle driving on the grass to get to it.
More than one car ended up in the sand and a couple more in the grass.
A bike stopped with its front tire in the sand too.
