my site and I'll do what I want

« on: August 21, 2009, 01:00:28 »

Ok so after all the messing around with the tow vehicle we are set to go to the track on saturday.
It is a non points OSCA race so the track prep should be good.
At this point we are just going to use it as a test day and not enter a class.
We wanted to test on wednesday to see where we are at and then either run pro comp or maybe 8:90 on saturday but the diff of the tow vehicle was in pieces. We haven't even had a chance to touch the car yet except to clean all of the diff oil off of it.

Anyways, we will be there with an orange 71 demon with Manitoba plates so come by and say Hi if your there.

And a big thanks goes out to Dan (70malibu) for all of his help the last couple of days. From welding to running around getting parts, you were a huge help to us and it is very much appreciated.

Only rained before the gates even opened.
Anyone that stayed home because they thought it was going to rain missed out on a good day for racing.
Wasn't that good for us but we had fuel pump issues.

We only made 2 motor passes Jay.
Fuel pump crapped out before we even went through tech. Spent 3 hours getting it to work.
They wouldn't let us spray it because we have no vent line for the bottle.
Humid day, may have some fouled up plugs from cruising Queenston with it friday night. Pretty much idled the entire lap.
Also we think the nitrous retard may have pulled out some of the timing.  Its a new set up for him.
We were tired and pulled it on the trailer after the second pass and went home.
both runs were a 10.6 at 128. Thats a few tenths and 5 mph off of what it usually runs on motor. Didn't even 60 foot very good.
Going back on wednesday night and going to spray it and then he is heading home.

Well the track was slick tonight but it went 9.54 @ 144.
The last pass went 9.64 with the nitrous cutting in and out the last 300 feet.

Details is a 500 inch stroker with a 727 and 4800 stall and a dana out back.
Indy heads and intake, 4150 holly and a NOS big shot.

He didn't expect to make it home until Friday evening. Haven't got a call from him yet so I guess the trip is going ok.
